Hide tanning is the process of taking the skin of animal and transforming it into textile using minerals, plants, fat, and smoke.

An ancestral technology that lives inside us all. connecting us to our bloodlines, milk lines, and storylines through building relationships through craft making.  Mineral Tanning is the natural hide tanning method that emerged with shepherding and sheep tending.  It creates a bright, white leather that is super plush, while maintaining the wools natural color.

This class is typically 3 full days long.  It is educational + skills enhancing as much as it is relational, restorative, and soul enriching experience. Workshops are hosted on places where I have a relationship with both the land and peoples in the Southwest Region. All materials provided and everyone leaves with their own softened sheep hide!
